Before the busy holiday season sets in, I would like to recount our fabulous October field trip to New York City Ballet. Students from our school, parents, teachers and I were treated to a private tour of the Koch Theatre by NYCBallet Principal Dancer Adrian Danchig-Waring.
Mr. Danchig-Waring shared the fascinating history of George Balanchine and the world famous ballet company that we were privileged to enjoy later that afternoon. We also enjoyed seeing behind the scenes and even got to go on stage. Much to our delight we later enjoyed a matinee performance of Balanchine’s Harlequinade and Jerome Robbins’ Opus Jazz.
What an amazing day of world class dance, new friendships and heartfelt camaraderie.
